Two questions ...

Is the gas tank easy to remove?

Did you buy or fabricate the "picker plate" (attached to your manifold)?

Thanks,

The picker plate is available just about anywhere.

The gas tank is fairly easy to remove. Just remember to remove the strap bolt at the bottom of the frame and not the clevis at the hinge as it is a bitch to get to (don't ask me how I know this, hindsight is 20-20!) It's easier if you remove the trunion shift bushing but can be removed with it in place with jiggling. I was lucky, no rust at all on either the tank or the chassis/sheet metal. If you do have rust on the tank, it is as mentioned usually under the rubber padding. If you find pinholes, a gas tank sealer can be used. I helped a friend with a leaking tank and we used Damon's Red Kote. It is one of the few sealers that resist today's modern ethanol fuels.
