I found that I needed a 2 1/2 inch filter element to completely clear the choke plate's operation on my Holley/Edelbrock install, but the assembly would still fit under the stock center screen.

Another Pantera buddy used rubber tubing and longer bolts...

to bring the rear of the screen up to level with the closed rear deck and to allow even more clearance for taller filters or different fitments.
