Reply to "Edelbrock Intake"

Les. I'm the wrong one to ask about this. I would think that the un-machined choke well version should have it's own part number?

If it were me, I'd call Edelbrock Tech and ask them for clarification.

I haven't used the Torker in 25 years at least and am not aware of what changes they made to it.

My impression however is that the unmachined version is one of the first offerings from Edelbrock, not one of the newer ones?

IF I was the Edelbrock Tech guy and you told me that you wanted the blocked un-machined version, I'd just tell you to block it. I ran a 4779 750 Holley with a manual choke and just made a 1/4" thick aluminum plate to mount on it and block it. To me, it was no BFD and not something to worry about at all.

I never put these things on a dyno but for the life of me, I don't see where it matters one iota whether or not the plenum has tabs to it. The location of the carb throttle plates to me, makes that totally irrelevant?
