As was said, most electric pumps you see in the catalogues are made for drag racing and simply won't move enough water to cool a 300-horse engine thats street driven. Moroso and Mezier make models that can work on long road trips- I know of one stock-horsepower Pantera that made it from LA to 'Vegas & back a few years ago for the big Fun Rally with a modified Mezier & only one or two instances of 220-and-up on the temp gauge. The useable pumps cost over $300 apiece and there are major adaptions to do correctly... There is one Mezeier model that attaches directly to a radiator tank in place of the return elbow. Front-mounting an electric pump has an advantage since the battery already is up front in a Pantera, but the ones I've seen weigh as much or more than a mechanical pump. A small Bosch electric pump in series with the stock pump (with a check valve to stop backflow) is used on a couple more cars as a supplement for around-town use.
