Wow, that is a lesson. I struggling to accept the oil pump rotors add 50 degrees. Terrific discovery; although, I'd like to see a second test on another vehicle to back it up.

If that is true, it illuminates many potential oiling problems as most conventional oils are compromised at that temp. We may very well think that we are operating at a safe temp due to readings in the pan when we are not.
