So, here is what happened. Driving the car through parking lot, I need to stomp on the brakes a little. Engine dies, but the motor was cold and I was coasting.
I go to start it and it won't catch. Then, smoke starts coming out of the vents. Not heavy, but it was obvious. And yes, you could smell the electric smell. Tried again and same thing. In fact, I turned the power on to unlock the wheel and it smoked.
However, the starter does run as normal, and the gauges were on,etc.
I've never had to troubleshoot electrical. My first thought is to just start pulling down wiring bundles and look for melted insulation. I mean, its not like I can use a meter since I don't want to melt anything.
Can anyone point me in a direction?
