You are talking about the two-speed switch or the intermittent interval switch?
In the first case most system work with a 3 or 4 prong relay which are numbered. See if there are numbers on the old relay, like 31/31a/87/49. If so it should be easy to find a replacement.
For the imtermittent rheostat there is an Hella aftermaket kit which I build into my 73 BMW. Looking at how that needed to be wired into my BMW it looked like a direct replaced for the one in my deauville.
Oh, another one for the parts interchange list. My direction indicator relay gave out and I replaced it with a new one from Unipart which was used in almost all mini´s from the 70´s and 80´s. Worked like a charm!
