Electronic "combination A/C control and evaporator icing switch"

Today I did TSB 3 17, where you ensure that the rear fan stays on also when the switch disengages the compressor. I didn't follow 100%, because they suggest removing engine front access cover and use new wire routed through the center console. That's not necessary, it can all be wired under the instrument panel and to the relay box.

At the same time I changed the capillary switch to an electronic. Primarily because the old switch was almost impossible to turn, and I didn't want to ruin the knob.

And now to the question. When driving with a thermometer in the A/C outlet, the temp seems to vary much more than with the capillary switch. Is that just the way it is, the electronic switch's sensor is less accurate? Anyone has the electronic one?
