I am not familiar with a 'remote emergency brake kit', but I would guess there is some play in the brake handle so that when you pull it from the drivers side where there is a tendency to pull at an angle due to the extended reach it is not engaging the teeth with the ratcheting mechanism. The OEM handle only has a single set of teeth and my remedy although crude would be to remove it and take a hammer and adjust it by closing the two sides up around the toothed center section. Difficult to explain but once you get it off and see it should become fairly self explanatory, that is unless this is some afternmarket kit, then a call to the vendor who sold it would be in order.
