Emergency flasher switch

My emergency flasher switch was turned on by a visitor and would not turn off. I found by taking the cover off I could push on the bulb and offset it to stop it from flashing. Now my turn signals won't work. Can I replace just the red plastic cover to fix it? Or do I have to replace the whole switch? If replacement is the answer, how do I remove the switch and get the wires back on the correct location(can't see behind the dash). Thanks for any help. Mike.
