EMG. BRAKE CABEL , WITH SQURE HOLE ?

Hey, after restoration om my 72´ pantera I am now going to install the hand brake cabel to the oem rear calibers.But the cabel-end has a square hole ? So what is supposed to be the connected between the cabel and the caliber ? Some kind of a square pin or bolt....
