Reply to "Engine is dieseling badly on shutdown - Seeking advice"

My hunch is that it's a vacuum leak at the carburetor. It has the thick insulating gasket and I will put in a regular gasket.

Forest, is this problem typically associated with too much advanced timing or too retarded?
