Engine moved???

My engine appears to have moved 1/2 inch to the left. The header is now against the heat shield for the gas tank. The motor mounts are not broken.
I did notice that the rubber insulators in the motor mounts are eccentrics. At sometime, someone has assembled them without noticing the eccentrics and crushed the shoulders. How do you find the proper position for them?
Any ideas what else to look at to get my headers off the gas tank? There does not appear to be enough movement in the motor mounts to get a half inch move to the right. Thanks
