So, the engine and gearbox is to come out this weekend. A Pantera first for me. I read everywhere that it's a good idea to take the rear lid off.
When I look at it, if I remove carb and keep the chain tight, there seems to be plenty of room beneath the lid. Has anybody tried removing engine and gearbox with lid in place? It's not just laziness, it's also to avoid the potential paint chipping experience of removing the lid...
Second question, my untrained eye tells me that if I hook the chain to the two rear bolts of the intake manifold, that will be a good balance point, any views?
