Reply to "Engine out, save my paint?"

I have had mine off a couple of times. It will make it easier,and let more light in too. remove the struts first, well after you know you can push the pins. I know a horror story where an engine installer let the engine lift push up on the roof and raise it. I don't like to work alone because I'm prone to do stupid stuff before I realize it. Tuck a little cloth around the top opening. Have 2-3 people. After Madawgs deck blew off in an ORR I bent my roof drip rail over the head of the pins to keep them from vibrating out. You should drive the car with the deck off too, It is surprising how it feels with the weight off. Bill
