Evacuating the A/C System

Greetings:

I bought a kit to recharge my A/C system with Freeze 12. Does anyone know a simple, inexpensive method to evacuate the air from the A/C system before charging with Freeze 12? I was thinking about using manifold vacuum while the car is running and use a one-way valve on the line. Other ideas?
