Reply to "Fan damage to Radiator"

I'm undecided between the flex-a-lite combo with brackets made like above or having a shroud made, cost is almost the same between the two. I was quoted by a local sheet metal shop to make one that I would have to cut out the fan holes once I settle on the fans at:

.040 anodized aluminum (3/64) - $110.00
.063 mill finish aluminum (1/16)- $ 95.00

Aside from the thickness, what is the difference in the above metal and what would be a better choice for a shroud?
