Fan/Heater/AC switch operation

No such thing as a stupid question.

Ok. Ive got the rocker switch on the center console, and, the a/c dial. Plus the "heater" light in the dash.

Whats the proper way to run the a/c. (and I ask because I'm just wondering if there are two different functions, heat and a/c).
