Reply to "fan mounting"

The Flexilite shroud has bosses cast into the plastic that will take 1/4-20 bolts and nuts. 4 small custom metal l-brackets attach firmly to the shroud and set against the radiator tanks or frame. If such things bother you, you can incorporate foam or rubber pads between the rad & brackets. Most hardware stores sell small strips of bendable aluminum that work as brackets. The suckinmg action of the fans will hold the assembly tightly to the radiator, so the brackets need not be very heavy-duty. Be very sure the fans are running at full speed by first patch-cording directly to the battery terminals, then thru the fan relays. Any change in fan blade speed or sound indicates a voltage drop, which means the fans are not putting out full airflow. With a Phoenix radiator, you desperately need full airflow, due to the thickness of the core. Start looking for a poor connection between the fuse box and fans.
