Thanks for the compliments Dave, they are appreciated.

As for the history of the car, I do know a little bit of it. While I was living with my father here in Tucson Arizona he purchased #1965 from a gentlemen in Phoenix Arizona in the summer of 1992. Soon after the purchase, my father was diagnosed with cancer. Sadly, he died in October of 1992. I was only 17, and thus could not afford to maintain a car like this. We had to sell it. We had a local shop that sold exotic/classic cars on consignment sell her for us. We sold it for $25k. She had a little under 15k miles then.

I never knew who had purchased her. My sister took care of most of that stuff back then and she unfortunately didn't keep any of the paperwork (was too sad to look at I guess).

Well, about 2 years ago I decided I was going to find the car no matter what it took. The only thing I had to go on was a few pictures I had of her, and the fact that is was a '71. Thats it! After years of searching (and some illegal access to a DMV website Red Face ) I found the owner.

I got a hold of the owner a few months ago. He was the person who bought it from us in 1992. He had it in Lousiana, right outside New Orleans. The car was rarely driven, and was not very well taken care of. Not abused, but neglected. We made a deal, and I purchased her back for $25k, the same amount he paid us in 1992 Smiler

As for plans for the car, I will be moving to Phoenix Arizona as soon as I find a home there. Already informed my work and they are going to transfer me. I have been in touch with Coz from this board who lives close to where I will be moving. He has been an ENORMOUS help to me and is going to help me with some updates/repairs on the car.

I LOVE the stock narrow body look. I will probably get the "Heritage" wheels from PIM to keep the factory look. I am going to have the cars paint totally stripped down and some minor body work performed to fix some problem areas, and then repainted the original red. The usual replacement of hoses, fluids, etc will be done as well. The engine I will keep as stock as I can.

Most of this would not be possible if it wasn't for people such as yourself and all the board members here who have given me great support and even better information.

Thanks to everyone.
