Flare Fitting for Heater Valve

HELP! I was replacing the heater valve on my '74 when the domed flare insert (sits inside the valve body in the 3/8" pipe thread side) fell in between the center tunnel where the heating pipes are routed. Since it's brass, a magnet won't work. Anybody have an old valve or heater assebmly with that fitting?
