Flyuidyne Radiator & Fans

Anybody with the Fluidyne Radiator with the twin sucker fans mounted by PI better check the fan area against the fins and tubes for any wear on the radiator.

My radiator started leaking, well, actually flowing coolant out of the fan side. Pulled it today and found one of the fans was mounted too close to the radiator and when it was running it was cutting a circle area into the fins & tubes about a 6" circle worth until it finally cut through about 4 to 6 of the tubes. This was happening on the secondary fan which I hardly ever had to run so it took awhile to show up.

Radiator is at the shop being repaired and the shop is fabricating a shroud to hold the fans to the radiator so they don't actually touch the radiator at all when running. Will get it back probably tomorrow.

Nothing against PI MotorSports, Jerry's great people and a friend...Sh*t happens.

But if you have this set up, you might want to check before it happens to you and you get stranded somewhere a long way from home.
(That's if you actually drive your car a long way from home)
LOL... Big Grin
