I am aware of three Amerisports with the 90 Si treatments of the front and rear bumpers, about which Mike Drew has previously written as follows:

quote:
The bumpers on those three cars were designed by Kirk, but built by De Tomaso. They came off the boat that way. There were supposed to be more of them, but when ... De Tomaso suddenly cancelled the Amerisport program and that was that....

It would be interesting if Strosek had a hand in designing or manufacturing the front and rear treatments. However, this is the first time I have heard the name associated with De Tomaso, and so I am sceptical.

I have never seen it disputed that Marcello Gandini was responsible for the 90Si bodywork redesign. That said, the fact is that the three Amerisports preceded the 90Si. We do not know the brief Gandini was given, and so for all we know he may have been instructed to incorporate the Amerisport bumpers into his design in order to make use of the existing parts to save money. However, this is all speculation on my part, and so unless Kirk can shed some light on this, we will probably never know for certain.

Here is a photo of two of the Amerisports (#9492 & #9494).
