Yeah that doesn't sound too good to me either. If they can't cast it, I wouldn't buy it. But I know on Windsors they like the extra deck height for stroking the motor to the max. Something to do with allowable piston travel. But if you had a 4.125 bore and a 4.25 stroke, that should give you a 454 small block. If properly balanced you could move some serious air through your motor without resorting to boost.
