Reply to "Friction plate over rivets measurement"

The lining of a clutch disc is like brake pads. It is designed to wear.

Everything is involved in the rate but the lining itself is not the issue with a Centerforce.

It is the silly things like the fingers on the pressure plate that wear disproportionately in comparison to others.

The problem with Centerforce is that it has become a two bit company because the original concept was not adhered too.

It has been sold several times and components are manufactured "off shore" and are supervised by "sales oriented" managers rather than actually pay an engineer who understands and more importantly CARES about the integrity of the product.

Use your Centerforce and when it is due for a new unit be advised to go elsewhere.

The Chinese and Vietnamese who make this thing now just are happy to have a job and just do what they are told to do.

That has absolutely no basis upon the quality of their product.

Rather than have the diaphragm fingers blackened from heat treating like they are supposed to be, they just spray them with black paint.

Not quite the same thing and the product is now just a mere shadow of what it was.
