Reply to "Front rotors"

...In 2002, I purchased the Pair of front Rotors from B.J. Falarski at Larrys' shop. They are Vented AND Cross drilled. They are very finely machined and are a work of art. I did not have a press to get the studs in and out (you can reuse the stock studs if they are in good shape) I used a Brass Bar and a hand sledge hammer to 'drift' them out and back in. Back-Up your hammering with some kind of 'anvil', block of steel or wood. They came apart and went right back together with just moderate effert. And as you keep the wheel lug nuts tightened; the hubs will pull-up until they are as tight as they will ever get. I installed new pads at the same time, and they have stopped reliably ever since! Don't forget to clean the rotors off with alcohol. I recommend leaving the 'backing plates' OFF!! In my opinion; they just rust, collect dirt, make noise and inhibit cooling! Regards,
