Peter, that front upright can be straightened. In your area, I suggest you find a race shop and tell them it's a pricey forged steel part. The piece can be cold-bent- slowly- maybe with some warming to about 350-400F followed by slow cooling to ambient. There may be some spring-back requiring two bending attempts to get it perfect. Race teams run into this situation (joke!) all the time. Failing this, Johnny Woods could probably do the straightening
If you want to be completely safe, take the straightened part to some place that does X-Ray (non-destructive testing) inspection- local airplane mechanics should know who does this. I've straightened forged steel steering arms this way and it takes a LOT of force and good control to bring things back in line without twisting them in the process.
