Jack, sorry for the delayed response. My car was a later 71 model. I didn't expect much of a response from anyone. Its just one of those parts. I ended up going to machinist who welded and machined a new surface.Your right about liabilities. Mention brakes and parts of this nature everyone goes running.Since it was the outer bearing portion of the spindle where the least amount of load is the machinist had no problem it appears in guaranteeing his work.
