Fuel Delivery problem

I am trying to wake up 06984 after a couple year hibernation. Changed the oil & filter, pulled the plugs and put some Marvel Mystery oil and let it sit. Cranked it up without plugs got good oil pressure. Put the plugs in and tried to start it. Cranked really strong but no start. Good spark. Checked the fuel pump and it is dry. ( I drained the 2 gallons of stanky gas and put 7 gallons of fresh gas in. There was no trash, rust, water or other junk in what I drained). I have a mechanical fuel pump with AN fittings. I took it out and disassembled it thinking it may have a ruptured diaphragm. It all looked good. There ia a tag on one of the screws but it is not legible.

So, I guess I am looking for a new fuel pump with AN fittings but I guess I am wondering if there is something I am missing. I have never had to "prime" a mechanical fuel pump. Is that what I am missing?

Thanks
