Too hard to tell if theres a hole in the feed tube. Still just going to replace it. I did get it out without removing the window. Dont know if I can get one in the same way yet. Will take pics anyway. Least I am pretty sure the gas gauge will be "alive" again. Got use to the reserve light on all the time.
