The hose from tank to charcoal cannister (the blue thing) can be unhooked & connected directly to the air cleaner, so the air that is sucked into the tank to replace gas going to the engine, is filtered. It will also allow tank fumes to burn in the engine instead of stinking up your garage.If you wish, the charcoal cannister is still available. All those stock vent hoses are probably dangerously brittle after 30 yrs, so replacement is urged.
