I had my garge door track raised to get clearance when I installed the 4 post lift. I suggested the guy install one of the side mount openers for extra height (idrive or jackshaft). He said he won't install them as they simply don't last and he said he could keep a conventional opener high on the ceiling (which he did) or even have it mounted at one side of the garage door rather than center. This was similar to advice I received here on the board from Mark Charlton and others.

He installed a conventional Genie unit and I'm happy with it.

You found a new home in Vegas or still spending money on the place in Hawaii?
