I was halfway through reading Julian's post and though "hey, that's what they told me too!"... anyway, I installed a standard Chamberlain chain drive unit when I replaced my door and altered the side-rails. I had no problems with my old Chamberlain chain-drive over 13 years but figured if I re-installed it the chances were good that Murphy would stick me up the arse and it would die the next day. The belt drive unit are supposed to be quieter but I figured I could spend the extra buck on parts for the cars. :-)
