gas tank

When I took my gas tank out I noticed there were thin rubber "gaskets" at various spots that touched the car body and belt bracket. I have gaskets that are thin and have adhesive on one side I plan to put on after it's done at the shop. Has anyone else noticed these stick on rubber pieces? Did you replace the pieces? I figured they are there for a reason. Thanks to everyone for their input.
