After you've checked the usual suspects like gas line and leaky carb, check the top of the gas tank. There are several places where vapors can escape. Some Panteras still have the original charcoal cannister for gas vapors from the 70s. Some owners have reported that the rubber hose that connects the filler to the tank goes bad. If nothing obvious turns up, turn off all the lights and use a lit match to look for a leak after closing the garage door.
