Gauges, stock vs. aftermarket

I am having my street/race Gr 4 look (i.e., non-stock) '72 pre-L Pantera completely rewired. Should I even try to use original gauges(I like the looks), and if so, should I have them refurbished first, and where? Alternatively, which aftermarket gauges should I consider? (I've noticed the Veglia speedo+tach are a somewhat odd diameter). Thanks!
