Reply to "Generator light...."

Thanks....I thought that the light should stay off. I've been battling an electrical gremlin for the past few years that I thought had left me. Looks like it is back. I've been working with Pat Mical on it and he thinks it is a ground issue somewhere. I have destroyed multiple altenators and coils in the past so am getting used to the signs of a non-charging battery. It isn't behaving that way now. The ammeter needle is always on the positive side, even with many electrical motors being activated at once (windows, lights, fan, etc.). The needle goes negative when I run the AC at idling RPM's. It goes positive again when I increase the RPM's.

The altenator (heavy duty thing that cost $$$ and includes the regulator and a cooling fan) and the coil are new. So is the truck battery that I'm running in it.

I'm going to have to really spend some time going over all of the grounds I think.
