Reply to "Goodbye cheap Chinese tires"

I recently ordered some Goodyear tires from Tire Rack. The rears were 295/40/18 and were made in America. The fronts were 225/45/18 were the same brand but had Made in China stamped on it. I think they should state on the website which tires are from China. I recently bought an inversion table from Sears and it was a Nortik track brand. When I opened the box everything had a made in China stamp on it. Pretty much everything from model cars to TV, aquarium supplies, and everything else I have purchased from reputable brands are made in China. In the seventies everything used to be made in Japan and everyone used to avoid it with the exception of cameras from Nikon. Now its China that is the great manufacturer of all things at a reduced price due to labor and supply costs. I think its just a matter of if you want to pay twice as much or not. It's not a guarantee that things made in the USA is going to be much better. Pretty much everything at Costco is also made in China. What is the consumer going to do?
