Craig, The rheostat for the instrument lights should have a grey and white cable acording to the wiring diagram. However it has as you say a grey and yellow. Following the grey wire it goes to the trunk light and then to the fuse board at the 6th position away from the wipers fuse. The yellow loops around to all of the instrument lights and each instrument is grounded. Hope that helps.
