Body Design

The S7’s beautiful shape was “designed” by the wind. Optimal aerodynamics and top speed performance objectives were achieved with extensive wind tunnel work. Targets included a low coefficient of drag, optimum drag-to-lift ratio, and extreme down force. The S7 has “full tray” body sculpting underneath.

At 2,750 pounds, Saleen states their S7 will create enough downforce at 160 mph to be able to drive upside down. So it must generate at least 2,751 pounds of downforce at 160 mph. How would you like to take a corner in that car? A little quicker around the apex than you're comfortable doing in the everyday driver, for a quickie thrill.

I want a little more performance than my Pantera currently provides, and I think it can be done relatively inexpensively, certainly less than $375,000. Even without carbon fiber.

But, if I won the lottery....
