I have owned my 74 cat for 22 years. I rebuilt my brake calipers,replaced my master cyl and purchased a new clutch and slave cyl at that time. I have used dot 5 syn brake fluid for 21 years and never have had a problem. I only drive my car on the street not the track. I live in upstate New York (not at a high altitude). I flush out my hyd system every 3 to 4 years and the fluid always comes out very clear. I know some owners do not recomend dot 5 but you can't beat this track record. Good Luck....
