Reply to "GT5"

Both the GT5 and GT5S cars are quite rare. Arguably, there are perhaps between fifty to sixty GT5S cars in the United States. There are a very small number of GT5 cars in the United States as well. Depending upon whom you rely on for statistics, Ford imported about 2600 to three thousand Panteras during 1970 and 1974. Additional cars for those years have come in through private importation.

If you want a real GT5 you must be prepared to travel to see it immediately and write a check when you find one. Assuming all the usual caveats on purchasing any Pantera are met, you will likely hve to act, rather than debate, consider and shop around. Because so few GT5S and GT5 cars are here, there is no market size as with the older cars, which means it is a sellers market. I found my car by searching for four months, twice daily morning and night, using PI, Hall, Byers Bros., Pantera Performance, Lance Nist, Cory Gheling, other vendors, Car Trader Online, Hemmings and several other Exotic and Collector car sites.
However, you can buy one of the older cars any day of the week and have perhaps sixty to choose from on any given day. Pricing seems to be around $55,000 and up for a very clean GT5 car. Best of luck.
