Reply to "Hand brake cable - Looking for a part"

This is the linkage that actuates the stock e-brake. If your lever is frozen I would guess the area where the actuator passes through the indirect piston is siezed with rust.

Note that most rebuild kits do not supply the O ring that seals this area.

The O ring does not show in this shot. It lives in a groove within the indirect piston and seals/rides on the shiny area on the part that I'm calling the actuator. It is the piece located just above the eyes of the circlip that is marked "was loose"

You cannot remove the arm the cable pulls on until the indirect piston is disassembled as shown. That involves holding the indirect piston in a vice to slightly compress the coil spring and extracting the large circlip seen just to the right of the slotted hat shaped piece.

It is a bit of a patience lesson. Good luck.
