Head Gaskets stupid question...

I recently replaced my head gaskets and all seemed to go OK. I ordered a "set" of FelPro Blue Permatorque gaskets and received two the same. They were not "handed", although they were marked "FRONT" on both sides (at the same end). I hope I correctly assumed that even though the gaskets did not look identical on both faces, that as long as "front" was front, all would be fine.

Why am I asking now? In spite of doing the ritual air-purge of the cooling system, my car seems to be running a lot hotter than before. It has a relatively new thermostat (yes, the Cleveland one) and an almost new Edelbrock water pump, all of which were in place last year when she ran cool.

Any experts who can advise?
