It sounds like the motor is fine, as it is lowering the headlight doors.

If you connect the red and pink wires together (the wires that were connected to the headlight switch) and turn the key on, the headlight doors will open.

Turn the key off first, and then disconnect the red and pink wires, the headlight doors will stay open until the key is turned back on.
