Come to think of it. They most likely moved away from this system when they changed the front structure after the crash tests. That was after chassis 1286 when they put in a lot of front impact bracing.
They did fx add strengthening pieces on the inside of the inner sheetmetal where the anti-shake-brackets attach (those side pieces were in fact completely redesigned). Possibly this may complicate replicating this system on post-#1286-cars.
