YES!, you can take the cover off and clean the contacts,first see if the contacts are opening and closing when you hit the headlight switch on and off, they should still move even if they are not making contact,IF NOT, check the power to the relay with a tester (red wire w/black stripe) if power is present but contacts are not moving,the windings in the relay may be bad.(185.00 from wilkenson pantera) i just went through the entire headlight system in my car,if i can help you out with anything , drop me an E-MAIL......P.S...be careful not to bend the copper contacts, if they get bent ,they may move but may not be making contact.....HOPE THIS HELPS.............DAVE
