Heater Core Fitting Size

Guys,
On the inlet side of the heater core (presumably the inlet) there is a flow control valve that screws into the heater core tube. Long story short, the valve is junk and I would like to replace it with something a bit different. Does anyone know what size/type of fitting that is? It’s bigger than -6, and smaller than -8, by eye looks to be a 45* tapper, but I don’t have a good way to measure that. I have some thread pitch gauges, but haven’t measured it yet. Ultimately I would like to find a fitting to convert it to hose barb or -10 AN.
