Reply to "Heater Fitting Question"

Its pretty well known that the heater/AC box was radically changed inside for single-pod dashes. The only similarity is how they bolt in and their external dimensions. You'd be far ahead of the game to find a '73-up heater box and swap the whole thing- including the lever controls and the outside air supply behind the glove box- into your car, along with the late (right-hand?) dash. Call a few of the vendors that part out Panteras; they occasionally turn up. Roger Brottan in UK might have the parts. I had a '74 heater box a few years ago (since sold) and nothing was the same inside compared to my '72.

A few people have successfully done this swap to early Panteras. It is a complicated, picky change of several expensive factory parts with questionable benefits. Certainly would be simpler to trade cars! Note the consoles are different too; a two-pod console won't fit up correctly to a single-pod dash...
