My GT5 rubs on full lock, but I wouldn't want to try and move the wheel out any further as it would rub the flare too much (which it already does on a a hard pothole)
As Kevin said the GT5 studs are longer, but run about $25 ea. if I recall correctly. Larry Stock had a 'Nascar' stud he was selling that is somewhere between a stock narrow body and a Gt5 stud lenghth I think.
Spacers shouldn't be an issue, they were used on some GT4/5 cars from Factory, hence the requirement for longer studs.
The alternative is to find a stud with the same spline size to lock into the hub/hats. The thread doesn't matter too much if you are prepared to purchase wheel nuts as well, but then you probably will have spent as much as longer studs from a vendor.
